Birthday Celebration

This birthday was one of the very best!

Well I have decided that my real passion/hobby is home decor.  When I am in a store, I always find myself in the home decor section, even if I went in to get something completely different.  

Wonderful Weekend!!

This weekend was a busy one, but one of the bests I have had in a long time.  Since I am working 7 days a week, when I got last Sunday off... It was GREAT!  This weekend was one of my dearest friend Christina's birthday!!! We went to Casa Del Matador for dinner on 23rd street which was SO good!  Then we headed to the Barrel Room where we got a VIP entrance (so fun!!)!  Then we danced the night away.  Have you ever been dancing with 8 of your girlfriends at once?!?  Let me tell you it is one big girls party!!  After dancing, Christina came home with me to stay the night and we stayed up talking until 4 in the morning :)

On Sunday, my best friend Helena and I got to shower one of my closest friends Hannah!  She is having a little baby girl!  It was so fun shopping for her! And to be honest, it made me want one of my own... Shhh.. :)  The shower was put on by Ciera and it was REALLY cute!!  We had such a good time and it was so fun celebrating Hannah and baby Delaney!  Also the one good thing about driving an hour to Salem is the great car convos you get.  It was so great having some much needed one on one time with Helena. :) Love her.  My night ended with going out to dinner with my in-laws, Ben and his brother Jason.  We celebrated Jason's 25th birthday.  We went to a place called Miss Delta that was in NE Portland.  I would highly recommend going there if you live in Portland.  It was really good food and a great atmosphere!

Our Christmas was wonderful this year.  It is always nice having a day or two off to spend time with your loved ones and do nothing but eat, laugh, talk, hang out and celebrate Jesus's birthday.   I wish Christmas was more than once a year :)

Chevron Table

So sometimes I get into this total craft mood and just go for something and forget to take before and after pictures :)  For this project all you need is:

- Blue painters tape

- Paint (white and mustard for me)

-Paint brush

-Paint sealant if you want

So I just painted the whole top of this table white to begin with.  Then once that dried (let it dry overnight),  I placed my painters tape in a chevron pattern.  So I would basically make one side of the triangle shape and then cut the tape so it would be a nice straight edge and then start there and go the other way up (making the zig-zag pattern).  Once I had all the tape on, I painted the mustard color on the areas where there was no tape.  I let it dry for a little (maybe an hour?) and then pealed the tape off.  Then I just touched up the areas where a little paint got underneath the tape.  Then I placed a clear sealant over the top. Fun stuff!   

Christmas items

A couple weekends ago, I went to Salem to do a little shopping with my mama.  We went to a couple Christmas crafting faires.  I scored the stocking to the right for $10 and the one on the left for $4.

I added the ribbon at the top to this stocking because it was a little plain.

I purchased this "peace" candle holder for my mantel.  

I thought these were the cutest little candles.

And lastly I picked up this crown for my mantel.

Ben and I are headed to Corvallis today to get the rest of our Christmas decorations that were left at the farm.  I will post pictures once everything is all set up!!!  I love Christmas time! :)

Thanksgiving!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I have been working six days a week so one day off feels like eternity.  When Thanksgiving and Christmas come along... Ben and I end up going to three or four dinners. :)  My parents involve going to two houses, Ben's parents equal one and then sometimes we go to Ben's aunts house. That's a total of four Thanksgiving/Christmases... This year Thanksgiving was only three houses, but that's still a lot!  It is so much fun to see all our family and just relax, while gaining like 5 lbs!

Gotta love the Thanksgiving day ads!  Ben and I woke up, Ben went to the store to get a paper and then we drank coffee and looked through them all... We ended up going to Target and Old Navy at midnight Thanksgiving day night...  This was CRAZY, but so fun.  We didn't even really get much but clothes, but to witness all the crazy people running around was priceless!
